My Treats · how it works

How we know it's good.

Every restaurant on My Treats is independently researched and reviewed on how it sources, cooks, and cares. This page is the whole method, in plain terms.

The short version

Three steps, no shortcuts

Step 1

The research

Public sources, the guides, and the kitchen's own answers. Menus, suppliers, certifications, recognitions: everything that can be read goes into the file.

Step 2

The score

Six practices, each scored against the evidence. A claim that cannot be shown does not count, and when the evidence could support two levels, the lower one is assigned.

Step 3

Your table

Every profile shows its impact score, the practices behind it, and the evidence on the record. Send the link, compare, book the table.

What we assess

The six practices

The same six, for every restaurant, every time. No cherry-picking.

Local sourcing

Where ingredients come from, and how directly they reach the kitchen.

Seasonal

Cooking that follows the calendar, not the freezer.

Low waste

What the kitchen does so that good food is not thrown away.

Responsible meat & fish

How animal products are chosen, and how much of the menu leans on them.

Social impact

How the kitchen treats its people and its neighbourhood.

Plant-forward

How much of the menu lets vegetables lead the plate.

A seventh practice, the health-intentional kitchen, is reported alongside these six. It never counts into the impact score.

The result

One impact score, earned

The practices roll up into the SEERO scale: Starting, Engaged, Endorsed, Recognised, Outstanding. At least two practices must be credibly covered before any score is awarded, and the score follows the evidence, never the marketing. Earned, not flattered.

How strongly it's backed

Every finding carries its evidence

Each finding on a profile is tagged with how strongly it is backed, so you always know whether something is the kitchen's own word or independently confirmed.

Self-declared

The kitchen says so.

Researched

Found and read in public sources.

Partially audited

Parts confirmed by a third party.

Audited

Independently confirmed, end to end.

Stronger evidence weighs heavier in the score. Weaker evidence is still shown, honestly labelled.

Independence

Never for sale

Restaurants can't pay for a place in the guide or a better score. Payment never influences scores: the badge means something because nobody paid for it.
