We’re Jonathan and Thijs, the founders of My Treats.

We started My Treats because we were both frustrated, in our own ways.

As a guest, I (Jonathan) often had no idea what I was actually eating. Where did the ingredients come from? Were they organic? Locally produced? Who cooked them? So many questions—rarely any answers. That uncertainty often took away from the joy of eating out. But when I discovered that many restaurants were already doing things more responsibly, I saw a big opportunity to shine a light on them—and make it easier for guests to find and support them.

On the other side, I (Thijs) ran a couple of restaurants, including a Michelin-starred one where we truly tried to do things right—seasonal produce, ethical sourcing, low waste, and carefully chosen producers and partners. But there was no online space where I could really tell our story or show what we stood for.

We’re convinced it’s time to rethink the way we eat out—more consciously, more transparently, without losing the joy. So we built what we were both missing—a platform where food lovers can discover restaurants that care about people, planet, and what ends up on your plate, without sacrificing taste or the joy of eating out.
